From Teheran to Helsinki, with a love of French in between.
Hello! I’m Nava, a French tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience. My passion for the French language started in high school. I’ve always loved languages and wanted to learn new ones, so I decided: why not French, such a beautiful language?
I studied French language and literature at university in Iran, starting from zero knowledge of French. After just one year, I discovered my passion for teaching. I loved helping my classmates with grammar, expressions, and understanding different structures. It made me genuinely happy! This led me to complete an internship as a semi-tutor at an international language institute in Iran, which was the beginning of my teaching journey. During this time, I learned how to personalise lessons for different students and how to create a warm, supportive space for learning French. Even when using textbooks, I always tried to make them more engaging and enjoyable.
In 2023, I decided to continue my studies, this time in Finland. I am currently a Master’s student at Åbo Akademi University. At this point, I asked myself: why not share my experience of learning French from zero to a higher level with others?
In the middle of my Master’s studies, I wanted to experience studying in France. For every French teacher and learner, this is often a dream, and mine came true. ✨ I was accepted for an Erasmus exchange in France for five months, where I studied a Master’s in FLE (French as a Foreign Language).
During my exchange, I also completed a three-month internship at CIEF (Centre International d’Études Françaises), one of the well-known French language institutes, where I worked as a teaching assistant. It was an incredible experience that allowed me to grow as a teacher and truly immerse myself in French language education.
I understand how challenging it can be to start a new language from scratch. I know the difficulties, and I want to create a relaxed, supportive, and stress-free environment where you can learn French with confidence and joy.
