Terms of Service

These terms apply to the private French tutoring services ("Services") offered by Nava Najafi ("I", "me") and advertised on navanajafi.fi. Nava Najafi operates as a light entrepreneur (kevytyrittäjä) and invoices the Services through OP Kevytyrittäjä.

By booking a lesson or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

I offer private French language tutoring, individually or in small groups, either in person at an agreed location or online. Course content, duration, and prices are described on the course pages of the website.

• A lesson is considered booked once I have confirmed the time with you by email or another agreed channel.
• You may cancel or reschedule a booked lesson free of charge if you notify me at least 24 hours before the scheduled time.
• Lessons cancelled later, or missed without notice, may be charged in full, as the time was reserved exclusively for you.
• I reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a lesson due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances; in that case we will agree a new time or you will be credited for the lesson.

• Current prices are listed on the website and include VAT unless stated otherwise.
• Invoices are sent through OP Kevytyrittäjä after the lesson or agreed course period, unless otherwise agreed.
• Payment terms and method are specified on the invoice. Late payment may incur interest and collection costs as permitted by law.

If you are a consumer and the contract was concluded through a distance communication method (e.g. via the website or email), you generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Finnish consumer protection law. If you explicitly request that tutoring begin before the withdrawal period ends, and the tutoring is fully performed within that period, the right of withdrawal ends accordingly. If only part of the tutoring has been provided, you are liable to pay a proportionate amount for the tutoring already given.

You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date contact details, to arrive on time for scheduled lessons, and to notify me as soon as possible of any inability to attend. If the student is a minor, the parent or guardian is responsible for enrolment and communication.

Teaching materials I use or create are protected by copyright. Materials may be used only for your own personal study and may not be distributed or republished without my permission.

I aim to provide tutoring carefully and professionally, but cannot guarantee a specific learning outcome or exam result, as learning also depends on the student's own effort. My liability is limited to what is mandatory under Finnish law; I am not liable for indirect damages.

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

I may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and the "Last updated" date shows when it was last changed. Bookings made before a change remain subject to the terms in effect at the time of booking.

These Terms are governed by Finnish law. As a consumer, you have the right to bring a dispute before the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (www.kuluttajariita.fi) or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr).
